Today I had to do one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life, I had to tell the Vet to put my "Little Man" Nicky to sleep forever. Nicky was choking so we took him to the Vet, the Vet tried several times to dislodge whatever it was that was keeping him from breathing right, but with no luck. He diagnosed it as a probable tumor and said there was nothing more he could do. Seeing the little guy standing there with blood pouring out his nose, I never wanted to put him through that again, as much as it tears me apart, I believe I made the right decision.
I'll never forget the day Teri took me out to see Nicky after she had received him as a gift from the Girls Ranch. Teri was telling me how cute he was but all I saw was this big ball of gray hair with a nose sticking out of it, doing the thing he enjoyed (almost) the most, eating.

We started shaving him that day and I decided there might be more there than meets the eye. And there was, he turned into this beautiful little 28.5 in horse who had an attitude and personality much bigger than he was. Nicky brought a smile to the faces of all that knew him and he was a specail gift to Tina, Teri and I and we are thankful for the time we had with him.

Nicky I know you are somewhere better now running with your little herd of girls saying uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

In Memory of my friend Brenda Fisher 2009
I haven’t known Brenda for a real long time, we met through the Eastern Montana Horse Show Circuit about 5-6 yrs ago. I don’t even know when we became friends, it was as though she had always been there and a friend. Brenda was the type of person who would do anything she could to help if you were in need of help and wasn’t afraid to ask a friend to help her out. Over the last few years we’ve had our difference of opinions, but then who doesn’t.
Brenda was a very dynamic, organized person, she wanted her horse show to be the best and she had all her ducks in a row at show time. Any time I receive a 2nd or 3rd place award at the annual awards banquet I will think of her, she always believed that more than one person should receive something for their efforts and played a huge part in getting it changed.
The thing I will always remember Brenda for is her love of her family. I talked on the phone with Brenda a lot and she always told me what and how Sara was doing, and I loved her colorful nicknames for Mike. After Mike passed away, Brenda was just not the same person, she was lost without him and I could hear the suffering in her voice when she talked about him.
Without going on and on, I just want to say, as much as Sara and Danny and all of her friends will miss her, I’m happy for her, she knows she did the best she could raising her children and knows they can make it on their own, all of her earthly worries are gone and she’s with Mike again.
Good-bye Brenda, we will really miss you.
